This brings back great memories of my childhood from airshows to field trips. Leave it where it is, I can think of 100 better ways to spend that cash without ruining heritage.

I don’t believe this should be moved it is a marker for where barkerville, wells, and cotton wood house is. It is the junction and we would not have had such a gold rush if it weren’t for barkerville be proud of where the sign is it’s been there for many years why move it

I live on Vancouver Island at this time although I have lived for many years at different times in Quesnel. As well, my children and all my grandchildren live there so I spend a lot of time there.
To me, the gold pan epitimizes Quesnel and is perfectly situated where it is. It is the gateway to the goldfields and everyone flying in and out from the airport as well as driving North, South and East has to pass it. It very visible, perfectly highlighted where it is and gives a warm sense of pride in the community as you pass by it.
If it is so important to have something at the train station which is just a small part of the people who see it, why not put a smaller version of a gold pan on a post or other structure
Cusps to all those who are supporting a large part of Quesnel’s history. An industrial area will not highlight this beautiful symbol

This so part of our history and well known all over the world in Brochures. We love it why was it even considered to move it.?we are still the gold pan city. Even if it is in our nature

Leave it where it is, this town has changed in so many negative ways, there is no point in taking away something that reminds long time residents of better days. Not to mention the fact we will have tourists galloping across the highway to try and get a picture of it.

Spruce it up a bit and leave it be. It's an iconic symbol of an incredible time. That there's STILL gold in them there hills still beckons many. This is an "Ain't broke don't fix it category.
Can we now move on much more important matters? This whole debacle smells of distraction. I believe this calls for even more scrutiny as to what goes on in City Hall.

It is an iconic landmark as soon as you enter the city, like a welcome mat if you will...please don’t take what’s left of the community spirit away to a site where it can be vandalized and disrespected like the downtown core has become.

The amount of money and time it would take to move a perfectly placed monument could be used elsewhere in town that actually needs attention. Like the pot holes on side roads of downtown.
I feel it should stay in it's current location!
