Please Bring Back The Old Alpen Light Bar Recipe - Slimming World Members
Dear Weetabix,
Thousands of Slimming World members including me have enjoyed your Alpen
Light Bars as a healthy extra B choice (a great choice for breakfast or a
snack) on the Slimming World Plan for a long time and we are upset you have
decided to change the recipe making most of your bars over 4 Syns rather than
being a free food (HEB choice)
A lot of people I know have been stock piling the old recipe bars so it won’t
be long before they are replaced in many supermarkets with your new recipe bars
which may taste better than the old ones but are no good to us Slimming World
members. They contain more calories and
less fibre and as a result of the change and can no longer be classed as a HEB
by Slimming World
Slimming World members buy boxes of these every week and are really
going to miss these; the new bars are not worth the 4 syns from our daily
allowance of 5-15 so I certainly will not be bothering when for 2 more Syns I
can have a Cadbury Curly Wurly.
Here are the latest nutrition
details for the new Alpen Light bars:
Summer Fruit 21g, 79 kcal, 1.8g fibre
=4 Syns per bar
Cherry Bakewell 23g, 88 kcal, 2.0g fibre =4 ½ Syns per bar
Apple Sultana 23g, 86 kcal, 1.9g fibre =4 ½ Syns per bar
Lemon Drizzle 23g, 85 kcal, 2.0g fibre =4 ½ Syns per bar
Chocolate & Fudge 23g, 89 kcal, 2.0g fibre =4 ½ Syns per bar
Double Chocolate 21g, 81 kcal, 1.8g fibre =4 Syns per
More people in the UK choose to attend Slimming World groups each week
than any other weight loss group. Have you thought about the drop in sales that
you will certainly have as a result of making this change????
If you are a Slimming World member and feel the same way please sign
this petition to encourage Weetabix to bring back the old recipe bars.
