Indianola Informal is not Indianola without the integrated arts program. It is integral to the success of the program as a whole and the students lifelong learning process.

I was a student at Indianola elementary school years ago. I am now 33 and was incredibly fortunate to have the exposure to the arts. Jim and Sharon were there when I was in school. I have a deep appreciate for all of the arts, because of my education at Indianola. My sister and brother also attended Indianola and their experiences there have also directly impacted their lives as a music teacher and chef respectively. Children need to have exposure to the arts correlates with all major subjects - you need math for music and visual arts, reading for drama and music , while the art of dance allows children to be active and physically healthy. The arts allows all individuals to find a means of self expression and increase their appreciation for the word around them.

Expressing yourself without art is literally boring. The lack of arts in education leaves a huge hole in mind, body and soul. Keep arts in the foreground so our kids can learn to figuratively paint their own perspectives!

We picked Indianola specifically because of it's focus on the arts. Our son Jesse is a 4th grader at Indy and we couldn't envision a better school for our child. He thrives in this school because of the positive balance of academics and the arts. The arts are teaching him to be a smart, creative, open child and a good student and citizen. Please allow the arts to continue.

Please do not make cuts on the Unified Arts team. As stated, this is a core part in the children's education. This is not an "extra activity " for them to do. To cut back on this part of their curriculum would be a terrible loss to students.
