The MBSC has been working with the City of Middleton to improve the Fire Fighters Memorial Park to become more family friendly. One project that has been in the ‘works’ for a long time has been a Fire Fighters themed playground structure with associated shade shelter feature. These items have been a priority with the previous Park and Recreation management, however it has not moved forward for various reasons. In talking with the City, they indicated it would help if they heard from parents that support the idea of a playground equipment with a shade feature.

We would like to offer our support for this idea. Having children who have played ball at FF, as a parent it would be wonderful to have a safe spot for siblings to play. Our experience with traveling to other baseball parks, ones that do have playgrounds are a huge hit with the kids & parents.

Playground structures give little kids a safe place to play, reducing injuries from climbing on other things like bleachers or fences.

We are very much in favor of this structure being installed. This would be a fantastic distraction for younger children attending a siblings baseball game, especially during tournaments!!!

This would definitely make the park more family friendly. West Madison Little League has a play structure on their grounds and it helps immensely.

Creating a shaded play area allows young active children to associate in a safe and fun manner while at the park. Let them climb and play but not in our batting cages or on bleachers. Will enhance experience for all visitors for baseball and softball.

This is very exciting to hear. So many families with young children come to this ballpark. My daughter has played at this ballpark for 5 years and I've always hoped for a playground
