Please, sign this petition to allow the acquisition of achievements in Fallout 4 whether mods are used or not. The players experience and enjoyment should be the first concern not protecting the sanctity of achievements.

Bethesda announced that it would be releasing a mod creation kit for Fallout 4. They also announced that, for the first time, players on consoles (Xbox One and PS4) would be able to enjoy these mods along side PC players. This, of course, was met with the excitement of every gamer interested in Fallout 4, but also a larger group of gamers who hoped that this was a sign that future console games might follow suit. Unfortunately, the release of mods was marred by the fact that the use of ANY mod disabled ALL achievements.

Achievements are very important to a lot of gamers. It would be understandable to disable them if Fallout 4 had a lot of difficulty based achievements (beat the game on Nightmare difficulty and etc) but it has none. It would be different if Fallout 4 was a multiplayer game but it isn't. It would be different if they only disabled a few specific achievements or only disabled achievements with the use of specific mods, but they didn't.

If you want to use a mod that changes your eye color, according to Bethesda, you're a cheater, and your achievements are now disabled. If you want to change your dog companion into a cat, you're a cheater and your achievements are now disabled. The same is true of weather, graphics, clothing, hairstyle, bug fix, and performance optimization mods. All of which do not effect gameplay at all, they only effect player enjoyment.

You might be thinking "why don't you just play without mods to get your achievements and then start a second game with mods?". The answer is simple, this game can take anywhere from 100-300 hours to fully complete. That's a pretty daunting gate in front of this feature that mainly exists to alter the aesthetics of the game. Mods add to your enjoyment of the game they don't drastically change the game itself. I'd be hard pressed to find any enjoyment in the game after I'd already put 300 hours into it, mods or no mods. Thats why being able to use mods on your first playthrough is so important.

Remember, almost every single achievement in Fallout 4 is geared towards just experiencing the game. There are no difficulty achievements or time sensitive achievements or achievements that show player skill. The achievements are for things like playing through the story, exploring locations, and picking so many locks. There is no reason to disable them, and there's certainly no reason to disable ALL of them if ANY mod is used.

I installed mods because Bethesda did not fix bugs and the Settlements had no UI and many issues.
