As ludicrous as it sounds we have to deal with our hurling reality. While I understand Galway is not in the province of Leinster geographically, it is for the championship so for all intents and purposes it should be considered as a match day venue. With the first round played in Croke Park, Dublin had home advantage but yet in the interests of parity Galway were not afforded the same privilege for the replay.

I feel strongly that denying Galway home advantage, as Dublin had this weekend, goes against the spirit of the Association. The whole ethos of the GAA is about fairness in competition but excluding Galway venues for Leinster championship matches flies in the face of this. I have written to the Chairman of the Leinster Council and the General Secretary of the GAA Paraic Duffy about my concerns and I have further contacted the Galway County Board to ask them to support me in my endeavours.
