In true NYC style, this is a wonderful idea that will gain attention from around the world showing just how creative and imaginative NY'ers are. And we have fun too! This must happen

My father, may he rest in peace, drove all over the city during his 40 year career (as an oil burner mechanic). He died 3.5 years ago before the construction of the new bridge began (and it was one of his most HATED roadways). The bigger the celebration to take it down, the better. A shame he isn't here to see it. (I also have fond memories of being a brand new driver crossing the bridge w/ those horrible metal rods that made your car swerve all over the place - it was TERRIFYING!) Can't wait to see it blown to smithereens!

This would be a GREAT idea, not just for the satisfying end of a historically frustrating crossing that has been the consternation of MILLIONS of commuters over its horrid 78-year life. But what better way to honor the man, Thaddeus Kosciuszko, a Polish IMMIGRANT who help make this country (let alone "make it great") by helping its fledgling Continental Army with developing combat engineer tactics to defeat a major power, the British Empire!

Sure! Let's turn a much-needed act of (awesome) destruction into a work of art.
It's the New York thing to do.
