Americans recycle about 2% of the plastic bags we use. The rest of these bags (about 98 billion per year) end up in landfills, on the streets, or in the ocean. Putting a tax on plastic bags will pave the way for reusable fabric bags, drastically reducing our environmental impact on the world. Sign this petition and bring us one step closer to the ultimate goal: a complete cultural shift away from plastic.
