It's their plasma they should be able to give it to whomever they want! They allow it with people that need bone marrow, why not plasma!?

My question is: I have been asked and donated blood for a specific person at a local hospital because she had pregnancy complications and was using a lot of blood. I don't remember the reason why. Anyhow, I was given an appointment time at one of our local hospitals, and I donated specifically for her. Why can't this been done with plasma in the situation as well?

Not only is it wrong it is unethical to withhold medical treatment from patients especially when people are willing to give.

I have a serious issue with the Red Cross taking my plasma. The Red Cross does not own my plasma! I could choose who gets my child if I choose to put it up for adoption, and I can chose who gets my kidney if need be. So why is my plasma any different???? Perhaps letting people give to their families will inspire others to give as well but we won’t know unless we get the freedom to choose.
