The Scottish Government has announced that it will be consulting on a new Bill which will incorporate Children’s Rights into the Children and Young People’s Bill.
Play Scotland is calling on the Scottish Government to include a Statutory Duty for Play in this new Bill. This could place a Duty on local authorities to provide sufficient and satisfying play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities.
This would help the Scottish Government delivery on their commitment to improve children’s outcomes and quality of life through play.

Great idea. Keep kids active and safe.
so many councils are cutting back on play areas when they should be doing more for our kids. stop ignoring them.
My kids have nowhere to go after school. The local park is a wreck. Fix it!
ABOUT TIME. Scotland needs to step up and look after the next generation properly.
kids these days are always on screens. they need parks and open spaces to actually be kids again. please make this happen

Play is how children learn social skills. It should be a right not an afterthought.
