The loss of trees and shrubs will also have a negative impact along with traffic and quality of life.. Manhasset schools have already well exceeded ideal number of students per building for optimal educational experience.

Re: The Thompson (1029 Plandome Road) & Kenny (1020 Plandome Road) Properties
Dear Mr. Chairman & Members of The Planning Board.
We are writing with respect to the recent Planning Board meeting held on Tuesday June 29, 2015 with respect to the developer’s petition to ask for approval to build six homes on the Thompson Property.
First: Please let me say that we appreciate The Board allowing a public hearing on this very important matter which, if approved, we believe, will not only impact on the Thompson’s neighbors on Willets Lane and Shore Drive, but impact on the entire Village of Plandome as well!
Mrs. Benisch and I have lived at 17 Willets Lane while raising our Family since 1968. Additionally, my parents moved to 32 Heights Road in 1948 where I lived and was raised. In this regard, I believe it is fair to say The Benisch Families have been long time residents of The Village of Plandome.
Second: We are writing in support of Mr. Mitchell Fox’s letter to you dated August 5, 2015 and completely agree with and endorse his comments in his letter (copy attached).
Third: We understand that The Planning Board is undertaking an independent Traffic Study so it can fully understand any adverse impact this proposed development, along with a proposed development of the Kenny Property, where we understand that a developer is petitioning to build four homes, will have on Plandome Road. Plandome Road is already overcrowded with traffic as a main artery for vehicles traveling to and from Manhasset, Port Washington, Sands Point and their surrounding communities particularly during the morning and evening rush ho

I am opposed to the development of the property as proposed. I do not want a ROAD In my backyard. It will devalue my property. I am a long-term resident (30+ years). A developer should not be allowed to come in and destroy the value of our property for his personal gain.

I am opposed to this self serving major development plan, which would negatively impact the value of my home and my quality of life.

My family and I have lived at 15 Willets La in Plandome the street most affected by this proposed development since 1974. I fully support the attached petition and as a group the other residents of our block and South Drive will do everything legally in our power to prevent the loss of our property value and the major disruption to our quality of life in this wonderful village. I was totally shocked to find out the proposed road being considered to connect the 6 houses being built would cause our backyards to become front yards and with out a doubt materially affect our ability to use these yards and in the bargain reduce our homes values. We have paid our taxes and supported our village for 41 years. I hope the planning board will support our way of life in Plandome and respect our home values and the disruption the proposed construction will create in our daily lives. As Mitchell said we live in an area that we thought would never be overbuilt. In addition the construction and resulting traffic and trucks will present a danger to the children in the surrounding neighborhoods. Thank you for considering our position. Louis Maier
