Plan to prevent the state from cutting all outpatient counseling services provided in the state of Oklahoma

The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is getting ready to make plans for $75 million in cuts. At least 189,000 Oklahoma citizens will lose services, and thousands more will lose their jobs in the mental health field; prisons and hospitals will fill up and countless people will suffer, and many will die without receiving this help. Not to mention we live in one of the drug capitals of the world, and hold 2nd in the nation for highest rates of mental illness. This could and very well will send our state into a major crisis.

I don't understand how someone could possibly cut care 4 people who are struggling with substance abuse if anything people need to be doing their part in solving the problem not taking away resources

So sad! I have personally been through outpatient in the past and habe benefited so much from it. I know there are so many like me who don't know they need help yet but may get into trouble /could learn & grow from outpatient services that are available!
