Plan, Preserve & Conserve Oconee Now! Petition for a WALKABLE OCONEE
Final supporters
We the people of Oconee County, GA desire Smart Growth. Please postpone further commercial development until a Master Plan is designed implementing:
1. Green spaces within retail spaces for the opportunity to have community, well-being, cultural events and recreation.
2. Multi-modal pedestrian paths networking our homes, schools, and retail spaces for a WALK-ABLE OCONEE.
3. Businesses that have wide buffers from the roads for storm-water run-off, that include landscaping and wide sidewalks in front with customer parking in the back. This will maintain our small-town community vibe, preserve aesthetics, and enable pedestrian mobility.
SMART-GROWTH involves development which is COMPATIBLE to our lifestyles promoting health, safety, better air-quality, conservation and foot/bike transportation. PLEASE PROTECT our town for a BETTER OCONEE NOW.

The momentum behind our request for smart growth reflects an urgent desire for a more accessible community. It is encouraging to see this many people recognize that our local planning must prioritize pedestrian mobility and green space.

PLEASE stop the construction. my kids cant even ride a bike to the store because the roads are so dangerous. we need sidewalks!
OCONEE IS LOSING ITS CHARM FAST. SLOW DOWN AND PLAN THIS BETTER.

traffic is already a nightmare everyday and they just keep building more strip malls. we need green space not another concrete jungle.
