Mayor Liccardo and Council members: Please, as a New Jersey Ave. resident and a witness to many speeding and failure to stop vehicles, put in place an active deterrent at this intersection before a life is lost due to negligence.

I walk everyday with my children to school. This intersection is dangerous. Some drivers are reckless and in a hurry, Sometimes they don’t even wait till pedestrians cross the street to turn or go straight.

That intersection is super dangerous. I've had to cross it several times myself and have seen cars just run the stop sign. Very scary this impacts at least 3 schools.

In Alviso the major street headed to our school George Mayne Elementary School on N.First Street is being used as a short cut around 237 freeway with many drivers traveling as fast as 45mph in front of our elementary school during school hours. The parking lot velocity is also out of control‼️

We need crossing guards at ALL of our schools! We also need the Police to cite these speeding lunatics!

How many children need to be hit or killed before people stop speeding and texting, or whatever they are doing while driving? Crossing guards need to be funded at EVERY school in San Jose. No excuses!

We need to make sure that all schools in San Jose have crossing guards. When the City's budget is up for consideration, we all need to demand that crossing guards at ALL schools in San Jose are funded. This "points" system is ridiculous. Children's safety should be one of our first priorities!

The City needs to ensure that every school has crossing guards, because our PD is too short staffed to enforce traffic laws.

That’s a busy intersection where many drivers don’t pay enough attention. Crossing guards would be very helpful

Definitely needed. Many cars on Foxworthy do not seem to think that they have to stop here.

Foxworthy needs to be re-evaluated. From Meridian to New Jersey. We NEED Crossing guards as well as more Stop Signs. People Are CrAzY in the mornings all along that stretch. It’s rediculous that the city hasn’t taken the time to look into it, being there have been So Many Complaints. Very Frustrating times we live in.

Walked with all 4 of my kids over the years to school & it was so frequent that we witnessed cars not stopping much less yielding for pedestrians. Many close calls.

I am now a grandmother of a 10 year old. It breaks my heart for the child that was hit and how sad it is that we have to sign a petition. There is a known need and that should be enough!
