The zoning change was officially denied today. I honestly never imagined we would get this outcome when I first put this together, but this belongs entirely to all of you who spoke up. It is a relief to know our neighborhood will remain unchanged.

Petition to Deny Rezoning of lots LL1277 and LL 2276 of Paulding County Georgia
Please Note: We are NOT against all Pit Bulls, Rottweiler's or any specific dog breed.
We are asking our friends, neighbors and other concerned citizens to sign the below petition to deny any change of zoning to accommodate any commercial dog kennel/rescue type use of our area.
We, the undersigned, oppose the approval of the re-zoning application from R-2 to Agriculture to allow the building and operation of a 30,000 sq. ft. K-9 Rescue/Kennel to expand and kennel facility due to the foollowing:
- Home Valuation: Devaluation of home and property due to the sight, smell, noise, and safety risks. Operation of this facility is not consistent with the character of our neighborhood.
- Nuisance Issues: Operation of facility would produce (increased) noise including barking and offensive smells.
- Traffic: Roads are not compatible for an increase in traffic flow incurred from this operation.
- Safety: These are "rescue" pit bulls that come from unknown sources. Many of them have been vicious in nature, Jason has even been attached causing him to receive many stitches. These are NOT family pets. This property is ~.5 mile as the crow flies to Braly Sports Complex and the Playground of Dreams in the New Hope Community.
We hereby request the Paulding County Board of Commissioners deny the re-zoning application.

I don't feel comfortable having such a large facility dedicated to rehabilitation of Pitbulls so close to home. A lot of children live and play in Silver Oak, if signing this petition could potentially stop someone from getting hurt by the potential of an escaped animal, I will do my part.
I am 17 yrs old i live right next door to this location i also walk to the bus stop every morni ng and evening this will give me nightmares not just me and my safety but for my younger siblings who are 12, 10,and 4 yrs of age we already have to li ve unconfortabel with this jason videoi ng my family and neighbors everytime we are outside please do not allow this
It is finally fairly quite in our neighborhood now that the kennal moved from our area. Really don't want all that noise again.
I love dogs of all breed, and think the shelter is a very noble cause. I believe, however, that it does not belong inside a residential area. I would happily support the efforts if placed just a mile away, outside the neighborhood.
On behalf of Century Communities of Georgia, LLC, and the 111 lots that we own, we are opposed to this rezoning request at 182 Isabella Path, Dallas, GA.
I would not want this in my back yard.It should not be allowed in a residential neighbor.
I do not want this facility being built this close to my home. I have raised dogs all my life but this type of facility does not belong in a residential area.

A rescue of that magnitude doesn't belong in a residential area. The minute that opens the existing neighbors housing values will plummet as a former commercial dog kennel owner I know this should valid concern for residents. Would you buy one if their houses. No - noise alone is a huge concern and should be. I'm sure there is more suitable locations already zoned as he needs it.
