Hi, My name is Robert and I am a 13 year old in Miami-Dade County and wondered why only American Pitbull Terriers are illegal and not Rottweiler's, German Shepherds, American Bulldogs, and Doberman Pincher's are not when they are all equally as dangerous. They all have some-what of a prey drive and American Pitbull Terriers are no different then all of those others. Pibull's are just misunderstood and misjudges animals. With the proper breeding and training, they can be nearly better than all others. I say, "Punish the deed, not the breed". These animals are exploited because of their loyalty, drive to please, and power. A stereo-type has been created among these animals; that they are killers. This is FAR from the truth. These animals are of the best dogs i have EVER come in contact with. They just have A LOT of energy and must be entertained to keep them behaved well. If not properly trained and bred, these dogs WILL become misbehaved and may become aggressive; no differently than any other dog. I beg of you to see the good and happiness in these animals. Only 2-5% of pitbull owners use them in fighting, and those are mostly gangsters who are involved in many other illegal crimes. These dogs deserve a second chance. In fact, they are very much like people in the sense of right and wrong. They must be TAUGHT these things. They LIVE to please their masters and will do nearly anything to please them.
