High Noon for Pioneertown's Future: Tell San Bernardino County to Adopt the Pioneertown Mane Street Historic Overlay

We lived in Pioneertown in the past and stay there frequently with our family who still lives there. Please keep Mane Street the way it is!

Keep Pioneertown's historic atmosphere. Don't mess it up like all the cookie cutter towns in California. It is so unique and beautiful.

As a 46 year resident of Yucca Valley, I have watched Pioneertown carefully and have listened to many historical accounts about the neighborhood. It would be tragic to see Pioneertown not preserved! I cannot believe the county is not is interested in making this a historical landmark! As an artist, I have shown my work there and painted it! Please do not rezone Pioneertown to make it a commercial tourist mecca. People visit now for the genuine old western charm.

Please save and preserve this piece of history!!!

Please understand the treasure that Pioneertown brings to the history of filmmaking while still being a current location. The County needs to provide resources to support the community's needs and desires to protect buildings and dirt roads.

I worked at the Golden Stallion from 1949 to 1956 for the Chinese/American Restaurant! I loved serving Gene Aunty and all of his cast and crews when they made films there. My two older kids loved going "on location" with me to serve lunches. I love to see it kept in the old tradition for these films. Please do not change it! There are few Western Towns left in California!!.

Grew up here in the 70’s. Please don’t make it like every other town. It is Unique. We like it Non Commercial.

I was introduced to Pioneertown through my work at Rimrock Ranch in the 1990’s. Imagining “updates” to Mane St. inspires concern. Let’s support the urgent and necessary Historic Overlay.

The reason tourists visit Pioneertown and spend their dollars is because they enjoy experiencing unique historic architecture, arts, and infrastructure. The reason people pass by yucca valley and purchase homes in Pioneertown is because they prefer dark skies, dirt roads and open spaces to asphalt, stop lights and crowded generic shopping. It would be short sighted to not preserve this jewel in the desert in it's wild and wonderful state. Makes one wonder if a developer has plans for homes or hotels in Pioneertown and San Bernadino County is helping them execute those plans. Protect the wild open nature of Mane Street and Pioneertown!

I am a frequent visitor to Pioneertown and its undeveloped, historic atmosphere is the reason it appeals to me. If this is compromised the town will quickly lose its appeal.
