Mt. Pleasant Township in Pennsylvania has shut us down. Cory Vos our zoning officer told us "his interpretation" is that what we offer children and adults to enjoy here is not Agriculturally Educationally based. If you feel that you have had an agriculturally educationally based experience here at Pine View Farm Fun, please sign our petition or write to us so we may present it at our hearing.  They are requiring us to apply for a Special Exceptions permit (which we did and it was costly) and present our case.  None of this was an issue in 2008, we have been told we ruffled some feathers.... We have been granted the ability to continue with Group Field Trips and the Petting Zoo ONLY, unfortunately that is not enough to pay for the feed, hay, staff, and vet care for the animals here. We need the other avenues to support the farm. This has turned into an extremely costly adventure dealing with Mt. Pleasant Township.

I have been reading through the notes many of you shared regarding your memories at the farm. These accounts serve as a powerful reminder of why we are pursuing this permit hearing. We are currently organizing these testimonials to present a clear picture of our role in this community when we meet with the township representatives.

Seeing this groundswell of support reminds me that the work we do at Pine View Farm is truly valued by this community. It is heartening to know that so many people recognize the importance of keeping our educational programs alive despite the obstacles we face with the township.

My kids love it here. We go every single year. It is so sad that the town is doing this to a local business that actually cares about families.

This is ridiculous. The zoning officer needs to get a clue. This place is a gem for the community and they should be supported not shut down by red tape.

Ridiculous! I learned so much at the farm as a kid. Dont let them close it down just because of a few grumpy people in town hall.
