There are some prisons that do not provide the opportunity for inmates to take pictures nor do they allow pictures with their loved ones when they visit and of course cameras are not allowed into the prison. If your loved one will be incarcerated for a long time their appearance will change. If it is your child and they are incarcerated at a young age, they will inevitably grow into a man or woman and you will have not only missed this transformation up close and personally but you will also have NO PICTURES to look back on. We are asking that every prison provide the inmates with the opportunity to take pictures on a yearly basis and the opportunity for family/friends to take pictures during visitationat the expense of either the inmateor their families. I started this because I couldn't bear the thought of losing those precious years with my own child. The stories you have shared with me about your own families are truly heartbreaking and they keep me going when it feels like no one is listening.

I truly never imagined that so many people would care about this issue. Seeing the momentum gather is overwhelming and it is entirely because of your belief in keeping families connected.

My grandson has been locked up for 3 years and i havent seen him change from a boy to a man. this is just cruel. we would pay for it ourselves no problem.
Seriously? Even prisoners are humans. We should be able to remember what our family looks like. My heart breaks every time I leave visitation empty handed.
YES. please let this happen. missing out on seeing my brother grow up is the hardest thing ive ever had to deal with.
keep families connected. its not too much to ask for one photo a year. helps with rehabilitation too.
been asking for this for years. just let us pay for a polaroid or something.
