I support efforts to find a permanent home for pickleball in Chaffee County.

Pickleball has already attracted a devoted group of enthusiasts here with more than 50 people already participating during the three months since the sport has been offered on a trial basis at the County Fairgrounds .

As a sport created for all ages and skills levels, it provides an opportunity for our community to add another active recreational activity that can serve both our local citizens as well as tourists who come to our valley.

-Seniors enjoy the social aspects of the game and the ability to stay active.

-Kids and teenagers can play it in physical education classes, during the summer and on Fridays when the Salida Schools are not in session.

- Many visitors come from communities that already offer pickleball and will increasingly look for opportunities to play here. (There are more than 100,000 active players throughout the country with pickleball facilities in all 50 states.)

Pickleball is a low-cost investment offering a healthy activity for both our local citizens and visitors. Please help us find a venue so we can continue to offer the sport.
