This an outrageous breech of professional conduct and needs to be overturned. The future of veterinary care depends on the profession modernising and mirroring the high standards of specialist interdisciplinary care set by human practice. Would you expect your GP to be a musculoskeletal specialist as well as a surgeon, medic and business owner?

This is wrong & must be stopped!!! A physical Therapists role is very different/specialized from a veterinarian's role & Must be respected & saved for the sake of our best friends lives!!

PTs bring years of education to canine rehab. Animals will greatly benefit from having a PT on their health team.

My dog has been immensely helped by physical therapy. The therapist is not a veterinarian but a physical therapist for humans who has special training that allows her to treat animals. Veterinarians are not the only individuals who can benefit animals who need physical therapy.

My Labrador was suddenly completely lame so I took her to specialists at the nation's number two veterinary hospital. They could not find a cause and had nothing to offer. They referred me to Shari Sprague, a licensed veterinary physical therapist. She immediately corrected the problem- my dog's first rib was out of place. My dog walked again for for the first time in 10 days after one physical therapy session. Now my dog is 15 and still walking in spite of several crises - each resolved by her physical therapist. My own orthopedic surgeon also told me that 50% of recovery from injury, age related degeneration or surgery is physical therapy. Dogs are no different.... we all have very similar issues. Vets serve a different purpose. They cannot be expected to provide hours of regular hands on therapy in addition to providing thorough medical care... no more than human MD's could!

My Charlie Brown benefits greatly from therapy. I did the research and found the best. We drive over an hour every 5-6 weeks to make the appointment.

I am a PT and also a canine rehab therapist. Banning PTs from treating animals is certainly not in the animals best interest. Our profession has a unique set of skills that cannot be learned in the short classes available to the veterinary profession. Working together as a team will get the animals the best care!

Enough is enough! Physiotherapy is a protected titled we don't perform veterinary services so than don't perform ours. Physiotherapy is a trained skill studied over 4 years it's not just the application of a technique it's the interpretation of it and what our hands feel not just an act!! Big difference
