Gone are the excuses of using it in high accident areas. The real truth is out now that it is just to generate revenue. If it is not why not have ALL the monies made put into social programs or infrastructure rather than just back to the police. Seems that due to traffic ticketing making them money the idea of stopping crimes like theft & murder don't make the list anymore seing they don't generate revenue. (1-2 hour wait for an officer to follow up on a theft call, but 10 officers lined up to hand out a traffic ticket for window tints.) I have noticed A LOT of new police stations & brand new cruisers. Is this now to be funded by ticketing EVERY person for any possible infraction which I see those same officers committing? Enough is enough... The slogan: "Dedicated to Protect, Pround to Serve" (Integrity, Courage, Community) might as well be changed to "Dedicated to Make a Profit, We Serve When We Aren't Busy Ticketing" (Tickets, Profits, Greed).

Im tired of the legal thieft by all levels of Government!!! Tired of contributing to big fat gov pensions, most of us dont even have a pension. We are all tired of being dictated to, what to eat, what we can or cant smoke and where , how to raise our children and being bullied by Governments, remember you are suposed to work for us not us for you!!! Disgusting sneaky unhanded crooks!!!

If used correctly and in the appropriate places then its a good idea, but not the way the city are abusing the use of these to line their pockets.

I've paid tickets that have been taken on yellowhead around 50st when the speed limit changes from 100 to 80 or 70. They sit toward the bottom of the hill so you can't see them until it's too late and hard braking becomes the new threat

I agree with less photo radar. Lets get the cops enforcing laws against violent crimes and theft instead. We don't need more cops, we need to allocate them to areas where they are needed. In Red Deer the photo radar are in the same spots 95% of the time, which makes it easy to avoid if you travel the same routes. And there isn't any corrolation between radar trap sites and high accident rates. Piss poor governance by our elected officials.
