PrescribeWellness is applying for grant funding under the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service (CMS) for their Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation (the Innovation Center) sector. Within this Innovation Center grant structure, CMS is looking for applicants who propose new payment and service delivery models that will provide better health, better health care, and lower cost through improved quality for Medicare, Medicaid, and Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) enrollees. PrescribeWellness is proposing a method where pharmacies will be reimbursed for diabetic coaching and for the technology they deploy to better communicate with their patient population. By signing this petition, I support the thought that pharmacists should receive recognition as health care providers.
