Hi Everyone,
This petition has been created to assist our classmates with grievance for the pharmacology course. Although some of us may have succeeded, it is hard to see some of those who have been working extremely hard to not be so fortunate. This petition will only be used to support the following:
- Professor Cantin had extreme delays with responding to emails or never responded at all
- We were not given an opportunity to express concerns prior to exam 2 as she was on an extended vacation
- Her review sessions were not consistent with exam material
- Limited communication on class expectations and concerns
- No mention of academic probation or warnings for those who were struggling
- Office hours were offered only once to students throughout a 12 week semester
I hope we are all able to provide support to our classmates by signing this petition.

The stories shared by students in the comments weigh heavily on me as I prepare to present our collective concerns to the administration. This process is proving that our academic experience should rely on clear communication and consistent support rather than chance.

Seeing the growing momentum behind this petition confirms that my classmates recognize the need for a formal review of our recent experiences. This collective response validates the frustrations that many of you have carried quietly throughout the term.

I completely agree that Professor Cantin was absolutely useless as a professor this semester, and ultimately we had to teach ourselves the entirety of the course. If any of my classmates failed it’s because Professor Cantin failed us.
This is true. We struggled pharm as a class and the professor was never available for additional help. Never responded to emails. And failed students from 0.5 points. Was away for 3 weeks. And did not even show up on exam 2 day and there was no lecture after class also. There was a zero communication. Also, she took a lot of time to post take home assignments which took our final weeks studying time. She changed our final exam to next week on a last minute also. No poll was taken at all .
Unacceptable at an institution striving to be competitive in the nursing field.
One cannot expect their house to be a strong structure if there is not a solid foundation. Thus, the necessary measures and goals of the course needed to be properly thought out and executed. Yes, we knew what we signed up for, we tried our best given circumstances beyond our control but if we had a little more support, encouragement and willingness to see us succeed then this would have been a better outcome. What’s good if a leader lacks passion, vision and a Heart? The followers will be uninspired and helpless. Even though we had rocky times maybe if the professor had said the right things, show more support and willingness for us to succeed we would have been more inspired and prepared. I respect her profession and her as a human being, but we were set up to fail given her style of teaching. The mediocre teacher Tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires. ― William Arthur Ward
I sign this petition with great disappointment in not only the way the class was thought but how the school failed us as a cohort. I have feel almost obligated to not only speak for myself but for my fellow classmates those who succeeded and those who didn’t. I believe that we would have benefited greatly if the material was geared towards nursing considerations, and interventions, which it was not. The class wasn’t groomed properly in order to succeed in this course. We benefited greatly from the help of Prof. Vivian who stepped on and did reviews for HESI, scheduled tutoring sessions for us, but as far the professor there was little to no effort on her part. This is an institution issue and must be fixed if the school really cares about the success of their students, their NCLEX rating and etc.. Finally, tuition cost is way too expensive for us to not be satisfied with the education received. This is unacceptable, and I speak for the entire cohort that for the following semester PSON needs to do better because this is becoming a trend at this point. Sincerely, A disappointed student.
These students worked hard and deserve to stay with their cohort! Please find a way for them to stay with us

I am signing in support of my classmates because Pharmacology was a very difficult class and I felt that the class was properly designed for us nursing students to be successful. The professor was a nice person but I don’t think that the class was designed for nursing students nor was the information presented in a nursing directed type of way. Honestly, after the first exam I stopped going to class every single session, because I felt that I would benefit more using the time to study as supposed to sitting in a class where I felt like I was being read to. I was only able to be successful with the use of Simeon tutoring ,Vivian Medsurg class medications overlapped sometimes and the use of YouTube.
