The labs and lectures have been out of sync for more than half the semester, owing to the fact that most of the students have different instructors for both lab and lecture. This has negatively affected homework and quiz performance. For a pass/fail course, the workload constitutes weekly homework assignments, bi-weekly quizzes, two projects (one to be done individually and one in pairs) and a final exam. This makes it difficult for students to keep up with their remaining core courses. There is an ambiguity with regards to the division between the homework and classwork towards the overall lab percentage. Lab assignments account for most of the work put in for the course, it is only given a mere 30% in the final weightage.

The solution we propose is to adjust the 15% reserved for the final exam within lab assignments and projects and to drop the passing percentage by 10%.
