Description:

Change the sexist product description of the vitamin pill "CENTRUM for him" and "CENTRUM for her".

The pill promises fulfillment of men's and women's "special needs"; which in the men's case would be CONCENTRATION and strong muscles, and in the women's, STRONG HAIR, SKIN AND NAILS. I suggest discontinuing and adapting either the men's or women's line, and creating another line to cover "mental capacity" and "beauty".

Open letter:

DearPfizer Consumer Healthcare GmbH,

I do not agree with your product description. Since I have never bought "CENTRUM for women" and certainly never will from now on, I cannot judge the quality of the pill.

Still, I am very concerned about the message you send to the world. The woman's face on your packaging is depicted without eyes and upper part of the head, while the man sternly looks out into the world. As to the verbal claims: men's special needs would be "concentration" and women's "strong hair, skin and nails". In order to encounter this sexist content, one does not even have to buy the product but simply read the claims on the packaging, website and other advertisement.

The message you are sending out : women need to be beautiful, men need to concentrate. These were the goals of the traditional European family model long B.C. until about the 1950ies.

You are a big, powerful company- should it not be a goal to think about future, or even current socio-economical gender dynamics?

Best regards,

( from my computer, with chipped nails, frizzy hair and a clear mind)
