There is an anti-Jewish document which is widely read and distributed in Palestine called the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion". This document is highly offensive to members of the Jewish religion. While we recognize the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom of speech and expression, we also recognize that the reading, buying, selling, and publication of this document are highly offensive to our Jewish friends and neighbors. Because of this, we ask Dr Nabeel A. Shaath, the commissioner of Fateh's International Relations and President Mahmoud Abbas to go on television and radio and ask the Palestinian people to voluntarily stop reading this booklet. We would appreciate for them to tell the Palestinian people, in a public forum, that this document violates Islamic teachings, in that, it purposely offends the practioners of the Jewish religion. We are confident that your collective influence over the Palestinian people could help improve relations with Jewish people all over the world if you were to provide your help and attention to this issue. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
