Elvis well-deserved this award when he was living for all the good he did and for all his charitable works and the big heart he had for his fellow man. He was truly a giving person who so richly deserves this long before now.

My birthday is also 1-8 but 1943.in 1958 I asked for a record player and blue suede shoes. I have loved him ever since I saw him on my grandmothers t.v. (ed sullivan). He was one of the greatest singers ever. Got to go to braceland in 2010 and I could feel his presence throughout his home. I introduced him to my kids and grand children and they also enjoy him on their ipods. He so deserves this humanitarin award. Signed roxann and bud soderman .
