To all employees and previous employees of Tesco distributions; I am putting forward a collective e-petition against Tesco and USDAW as a regards to the unfair treatment employees receive through the processes and timings that are in place on site, and the lack of representation at a national scale from USDAW union for their members. Once we have a significant number of responses from current/previous employees this e-petition and results will be forwarded to the following people; Philip Clarke (Chief Executive at Tesco), John Hannet (General Secretary of USDAW), Chris Grayling (Minister for Health and Safety) and findings will also be forwarded onto certain newspapers to bring to light the issues and concerns of Tesco workers and USDAW Union members. Issues this petition will cover are as follows; 1.PERCENTAGE, PERFORMANCE AND TIMINGS: Tesco need to recognise that the percentage and timings need to be bought into line with that where the majority of employees can achieve safely, and NOT to place employees at risk of having to breach health and safety to achieve their percentage 2.S.Y.P [SUPPORT YOUR PERFORMANCE]: The process needs to be fair for ALL employees. The constant threat of warnings, being taken into the office every other week for meetings and the constant threat of dismissal is not conducive to a positive work place. All this does is place added stress on the employee who is constantly harassed for not being able to achieve their unrealistic timings and percentages. All an employee wants is to come to work, and work to the best of his or her capabilities without this constant threat to their livelihood. 3.HEALTH AND SAFETY WITHIN THE WAREHOUSE: Tesco need to recognise that Health and Safety is paramount to their employees. To achieve the 100% performance, employees are finding to do so you need to ‘cut corners’ in regards to the Health and Safety regulations on site; this in turn is putting themselves and fellow workmates at risk. If all employees adhered to the Health and Safety guidelines within the distribution network, then 100% would not and is not achievable. If employees breach these Regulations, it can lead to their dismissal, if employees do NOT achieve their percentage rate this too can lead to their dismissal. Placing the worker in a circumstance in which only increases their work place stress. 4.USDAW: A call for USDAW to hold a national meeting on behalf of their members to address all the points listed above. Thank you all for taking the time to read through this and I appreciate any feedback and support you can give to this cause. All that is asked is for ALL to be treated equally, fairly and with respect.
