The funny thing is LOWES and Home Depot will give a civilian federal employee the discount because their ID looks like active military except for the word "Civilian" right on it. So Lowes not only denies deserving veterans they give the discount to people who do not deserve it.

I want to thank all my fellow veterans, brothers and sisters for their service and sacrifice. I want to thank Lowes in Tucson (Speedway and Kolb) for giving their 10-percent discount to specific types of veterans. I'm the wrong kind of veterans for Lowes' discount, but no less proud of my years in the US Navy, combat tours with the Tonkin Gulf Yacht club - and the charitable work I've enjoyed over the years. I plan to spend my money, what little I have, somewhere they don't care what type of veteran you are. Sorry Lowes - they say it's the thought that counts.

I unfortunetly qualify for the 10% at lowe's. I would gladly trade any vet, my legs for theirs, cause the 10%, aint worth the pain I have daily.

Home Depot used to accept the Thank A Vet card but lately the manager has denied the card and has a nasty attitude to the point that I will not shop there any more. I will go to Loews instead, they will take the discount and give me a "Thanks for your service". You have proof from Erie county that you are a vet-yet there is no (albeit small) gratitude for putting your life on the line for their FREEDOM at Home Depot except for 3 days a year.

Lowes (Orchard Park) has been good to me in the past. I did major remodeling in my home. They never questioned my Erie County issued card. Chris Jacobs and his office treated me with great respect when I applied two years ago. This was a nice perk while it lasted! I feel for the employees that have to hear our complaining. If the American Legion had gotten involved maybe something could have happened

I was just at the Brockport Lowe's and the manager wouldn't even look at me when she denied my card. After checking the Dept. of Veteran's Affairs website, I went back down to complain. The store employees told me this "new policy" came down from corporate, they're aware of how awful it is & that the best thing I could do would be to contact corporate & complain.

I was at the Home Depot and the cashier told me I was out of luck with the card and told me they would only honor the card for three holidays.

I just visited Home Depot in West Seneca today and was informed by the cashier that they are going to the same policy as Lowes. I already left a voicemail at Mr. Jacobs' office with this information.
