I am the mother of three school age chidren. one of my sons has dyslexia. My issue with Common core is that it leaves my bright child behind. He is not and never will be a good test taker. Yet according to common core and state mandated testing he shows as a low achiever. He is so smart and bright and works so hard. He will never fit in the common core box that the state is trying to say all kids need to fit in. My youngest daughter now hates school. She comes home everyday crying because the math nakes no sense and requires her to fit so much into it that confusion it a constant companion of hers. She has developed panic attacks at the age of 10 because of the constant testing. As a parent, I feel that if the public schools do not get rid of common core and mandated testing, we will be forced to seek schooling outside of public school. please get rid of this unconstitutional test!

Leave education to the states. Get rid of Common Core and high stakes testing. As a teacher who is currently homeschooling because of the government intrusion in schools, I say let the teachers teach. We know what is best for kids. Political fat cats and corporations aren't in it for our kids.

As a taxpayer and a grandmother of 5, I do not want the State of Missouri involved in any way with the Common Core State Standards nor do I want my grandchildren subjected to a substandard education in public school. What is being passed off as "rigorous" is nothing more than the further dumbing down of an unknowing populace. Public education is so involved with social engineering (common core is just an extension of such) there is no quality time left for basic education. I am sickened and disgusted with those in a position of authority to so readily throw away our local autonomy. The children are our future and they deserve much, much better than is being offered by the government. Furthermore, the total implementation of this farce called "Common Core" will ultimately break the backs of the Missouri taxpayer. Considering all we know about Common Core, I do not know how, in good conscience, the State Board of Education can proceed with the implementation of Common Core.
