The BEN scheme is a great idea, just that Ryecroft Library is totally the wrong location.

Agree homeless need help but not near a children’s playground

I fully support the service but feel the proximity to the park is not ideal as the service seems to be attracting drug users to an area where children are. That is not to say the people using the service are drug users but there has been an increase possibly of people trying to access the service without referral.

Seen homeless men hanging about. This definitely shouldn’t be happening in a residential area and especially NOT in a children’s play park. !!!Surly more suitable buildings in the centre of Manchester or Ashton-under-Lyne.

A great scheme but completely the wrong location. I completely support help for the homeless. However, Who on Earth thought that this was a good location? It was never going to be a sensible option... why is it that people who make these decisions unfortunately often make bad ones?!

Less than ideal choice, its not an ideal facility and not fit for purpose, benefits nobody apart from Andy Burnham.Maybe if it was in a field off the East Lancs across from his house he would be happier

Unsuitable near a CHILDRENS PARK, it only takes one discarded needle to be picked up by a child.

This is not wanted in Audenshaw. The proposal is to have this next to a kids playground and is totally unacceptable.

Excellent scheme however the location is an extremely poor choice. I feel the decision was made very discreetly and the effects were scarcely noticed at the very beginning however there are more and more instances of loitering people that are under the influence. There is no way that the council can guarantee fully that all these people have been fully vetted, this is due to the fact that other homeless people that aren’t registered with the scheme have gotten wise and trying to access the service. There is a situation and it needs to be rectified immediately.

I’m sure a more suitable place could be found in the town centre of Ashton-under-Lyne

Totally support the scheme and hope in continues to help people in need. However the decision to house people under the influence of alcohol and drugs in such close proximity children’s park is inexcusable, I’m sure Manchester has a more suitable locations for these people to stay.

Great scheme.... but totally the wrong location, sweeping issues under the carpet, not really dealing with the root problems of these people.

Totally support the idea but this is definitely not the place for it.

Fantastic idea for a very noble cause, but in a totally inadequate location, there are several suitable locations in and around Tameside town centres, close to vital services which could offer help to these displaced individuals. Housing them next to a park in a residential area away from amenities is not one.
