Beaches should be shared by all rate paying members of the community. I have horses, I have dogs, we enjoy the beaches along our coast. It shouldn’t be just for minorities!

Our dogs love the beach too. Have always taken the dogs to the beach for at least 50 years.

Karen and Alvin bring so much love and joy to the children and adults in Kurnell it would be truly very sad if they were not able to continue to use the beach which Alvin so dearly loves. Also the dogs that come to Kurnell to play on the beach are not hurting anyone and too bring love and joy to the hearts of many. Such simple things that provide so many with happiness taken away for what? Let them carry on sharing love

I can’t see what’s wrong with having animals on the beach!! They’re not harming anyone or anything and provides a great experience for those on the beach

Modern day living has disconnected people with nature, this has caused the mass obesity and depression issues we face in modern day 1st world society. People should be encouraged to spend time with and reconnect with nature for there over all health and what better way to do that than with horses and dogs.

Kurnell is known for horses swimming down Silver Beach and now the council wants to this away from community.
Council should be ashamed of themselves.

Cost me $150k in legals to get approval to build my horse stables in Kurnell (then add $70k to build) - an allowable use of the land according to the LEP. Not allowed to ride in my backyard though..mind you you can kick a footy or play backyard cricket. My case should never have gone to court but a neighbouring "developer" made our lives hell and we are still paying for it. LEP stated no subdivisions in Kurnell (at that time). At the time Kurnell was considered the last place in the Shire you would want to live - we specifically bought the land to keep horses on and it is the original site of Kurnell Riding School which operated for many many years - nope couldn't get existing use rights either. Our country is a mess, we're stripping it of all it's resources, we're in drought and sending feed overseas while our own animals are dying. Sydney Dogs and Cats home has been allocated land at Kurnell to keep operating - why? Because the block they are on is being redeveloped! We're all going to end up living in boxes that you (pardon the pun) can't swing a cat in and then wonder why organisations like Sydney Dogs and Cats home even exist! No backyards to keep animals anymore! The Shire has gone to the dawgs! Actually , it hasn't it has gone to the dollars!

We love our community, and it's most important that we can continue to access our beach with our animals, dogs & horses.

Having lived in the Shire for MANY years before it became a developer's blank cheque, horses and stables were an accepted part of the Shire in Kurnell.
Another unique characteristic of this peninsular.
Please.....allow this beautiful lady and her amazing ALVIN, to continue to give pleasure and peace to the young people of the Shire, whether i our back yards or on our beaches.
It's time rate payers claim back the Shire

I have lived in Kurnell for 46 years and have always walked my dogs and horses on the beach. With respect I believe it is a great injustice to All local residents and people who travel to this Haven that they can no longer enjoy the freedom we have always had.

A no brainer really. Animals enrich our lives in many ways and they need to be more broadly embraced.
