Petition to Study Restrictions on County-Owned Properties
Williamson County is in debt just under $600 million. In addition, it is experiencing rapid growth and enrollment in its schools, and it's anticipated that the county will need to construct and/or expand 15 to 23 schools over the next 10 years with an estimated cost of $500 million to start.
We, the undersigned, believe that the Williamson County Commissioners have a fiduciary duty to protect constituents from the burdens of increased taxes. We request that our Commissioners vote in favor of the study of any and all legal restrictions that might apply to the use of proceeds received from the lease or sale of any properties owned by Williamson County constituents, including the use of these funds for Williamson County Schools and the education of children in Williamson County.
