Having OSU-Cascades in Central Oregon will be fantastic but only if OSU stops construction on the Westside and finds a more suitable location that will serve the entire region. The West side location is a terrible location for a campus for so many reasons. Inadequate roads, lack of student housing, lack of parking and I have yet to see a traffic plan to get the traffic from other parts of Central Oregon to the West side without snarling traffic on Colorado, Franklin, Riverside/Galveston and other East/West roads that can barely handle existing traffic. Bad location no matter how you look at it.

4 year university: YES West side location: NO Regardless of the cost, the proper location for the OSU campus would be Juniper Ridge, where it can serve as an anchor for the further development of Bend's north side.

I love the idea of a 4 year university in Bend. However, the plan to site it on top of a pumice mine leaves much to be desired. We need to place this school where there is room to grow, and everyone has access-the Westside is not that place.

I was so excited to get a 4 year university in Bend, and so sad when I heard it was going to be a micro campus. As an alum of OSU I assumed they would have a large beautiful Bend campus that future businesses could grow around, ample housing and parking. It was a sad choice to me.

All for the four-year University in Bend, just not at the Westside location!

Please take the community's wishes into consideration. Thoughtful development is critical for the long-term success of the University and livability in Bend.

Sadly OSU has set themselves up for a huge fall. This is not a NIMBY issue. All of Bend is affected by this. The community is coming around to how OSU has subverted our due process in order to exploit our quality of life in order to attract profitable out of state students.
