Bend lied, move it to Juniper , the money the OSU has spent so far could have paid for the new road on 18th street & cooley & HY97.?

This location doesn't have any room to expand. Who thought that was a good place anyway?

The location is a terrible idea. The westside does not need any more traffic. Century dr./14th is already an awful cluster.

OSU-Cascades,
Are you building this campus for the people of Central Oregon or for the out of state and foreign students who will pay much higher tuition? If it was for the people of CO then the location would be in a more central place easily accessible for the residents outside of West Bend

I have been against this location from inception for all of the reason mentioned by numerous citizens of Central Oregon and elsewhere.

The present site has nothing at all to do with what Dr. Fred Boyle intended for the residents of Oregon who would wish to pursue their education at the new OSU campus.

I am all for the university expansion. I do not support the location-it's a horrible choice. In considering locations, these items should be considered 1st & foremost:
Immense traffic congestion @ current proposed location
Quick & easy access to 97
Room to expand over decades, not just a few years
Space for off site affordable housing within walking distance to campus

OSU Cascades needs to be located where more Central Oregonians can access easily the campus and not just those on the west side. Students will come from the outlying areas and will need to commute to school due to personal or work responsibilities. The school needs to look forward 30, 40 years from now and should be located where the school can handle to growth. Why think so small?

A university in Bend is a great idea; choose a more accessible site!

It is interesting the amount of effort and oversight undertaken for our Urban Growth Boundry plan, but wrt this effort a very shortsighted/expedited process is found to be acceptable. It is hard to imaging that an academic institution has not already developed a comprehensive master plan for the establishment of OSU-C in Bend. It is prudent for OSU to be forthright with their master/long-term plan and objectives to ensure their vision is in line with our vision as well. There is no doubt that having OSU-C here is a worthwhile endevour, however full disclosure of the plan and impact (positive and negative) need to be provided.

I love the idea of a university in Bend but not at the location OSU has selected on the west side of town. Dovetailing with COCC seems a better use of taxpayer money plus it's more accessible for students coming from places other than Bend.

Campus here-great idea; wrong location. Needs to be where there is room; west side area around Simpson already too tight, too much traffic, etc.

It is absurd and a completely irresponsible use of University and taxpayers money to start building without a complete plan for the full 56 acre site. It is unethical to proceed in the current fashion. Do a complete plan.

All for a college, but the west side location is horrible and will congest everything. Think about the long term! It's not too late to fix this!!!
