Very upset that our 3rd Grader is being subjected to such torment, along with the teachers. That is all they hear all day long is come on we have to do this, or your going to fail and go to summer school for 6 weeks, 6 hours a day. This is terrifying these small children, especially the ones that don't test well under such stress anyway. Another thing that bothers me is Hispanics and other Children of different cultures if they don't understand English well, and don't speak English well, they will NOT be required to take these test and go to summer school. Don't you think that these are the ones that actually really need to go to Summer School and learn our Language??? Something is wrong here, and it isn't going to end with my child being harassed with fear of going to school everyday, because this is all they hear. Oh yes Home Schooling and Private School is looking better everyday!!!!

I loved hearing about the trick questions that was on the test this week, love the stress they have put on the teachers and students and parents. Who knew 3rd grade could be so hard! Private School looks really good!!!

I have three school aged children and clients who are teachers. Although I am not opposed to setting higher goals for our children, I am opposed to making them unattainable. My Kindergartener is in a classroom of 24 students to 1 teacher. She has an assistant, but due to all of this testing the TA is out of the classroom "testing" other students. How can our teachers possibly get anything done this way? They are given more to do with less. It makes no sense.

the teachers are learning this as well as the students..but this is an over load for students..I don't want my child overwhelmed our stressed at this age.

I have a grandchild in the third grade and I am very concerned about the continual testing that the state has required the schools to test all third grade students. I am a substitute teacher and have seen the stress that it has placed on the students and teachers. The teachers are continually out of the class room learning about these test and because of the test they are not able to teach the students the way they should. Please stop this testing and let the teachers do what they. Are suppose to do, TEACH our children.
