You people have the internet! Look thing up before you make yourself look silly. Scalping is legal almost everywhere. A few states even expressly make it legal to do it on the internet. Others only have minor restrictions, like prohibiting scalping near venues. Some only regulate college sports ticketing. One or two make it a requirement to be a licensed ticket broker. In California, where StubHub (an eBay company with no connections to Ticketmaster) operates, it is legal. The transaction technically takes place there, on their servers in California. Ticketmaster may not have any connection to StubHub, but AXS (an AEG company) does. But the connection helps buyers by providing a ticket re-issuing service through AXS for events they service. In return, AXS is allowed use StubHub's marketplace to sell unsold tickets to events undersold, giving them (and the artists and promoters) a second outlet through which to sell tickets.
