We strongly support our Imam. My family does support the masjid. If you let the Imam go, we will stop supporting the mosque, and will stop praying there....his removal is not in the interest of the community....

Who makes up this shura? Who are these people and how can they make this decision without consulting the members of the community?What is their reasoning for the Imam's removal? Why do they keep firing Imams??

I am sick and tired of this shura council firing an imam after imam they should focus on what is good for this community and what is good for this community is the continuing of imam Alzaree as the spiritual leader of this masjid.

I fully support keeping Imam Azzari at PGMA. He has benefitted the PGMA community so much and I protest his possible departure. We continually learn a ilot from him, respect him and value him, and need him at PGMA. He is vital to the success of the mosque and community members. He is our highly respected religious leader.

I think the Shura need to step down. They are destroying our community by their politicized decisions without considering the best interest of pgma. Imam Zahri is one of the best Imams in the D.C. area. Why they want to remove him. We should all come to the general assembly they called for on Saturday July 8 to make no confidence vote in them and call for an early shura election.

I have serious concerns with this move from the Shura for the following reasons:
1- The Shura has taken a decision of this magnitude with drastic implications to the community without any consultation of the general body nor any explanation.
2- From the explanation I have received from Shura members, the only explanation I can work off of given that an official explanation has not been offered, the issues are purely personal and/or governance related. These issues need to be resolved via mediation per the constitution. This decision would be in clear violation of that.
3- The grass is not greener on the other side. Communities do not easily recover from the firing of an Imam - even under justifiable circumstances (which I do not believe these are).
I urge the Shura to reconsider their decision and offer an explanation to the community.

We enjoy his beautiful recitation , his informative Khuttbaa, and his sincere caring for the community. Please listen to us and keep Imam Ahmad as pgma religious director. JAK

As a member of PGMA, I am totally saddened and shocked at the decision of the Shura to remove our dear Imam Azzaree. I am totally opposed to their decision, and they will lose me as a member of PGMA, as well as my entire family if they decide to go ahead with their decision . Imam Azzaree has been a spiritual guide to us over the years, and a personal counselor as well. May Almighty Allah protect us from Shaytan. Allahouma amine
