My mom's home place. Spent a lot of time at this place. My dad helped erect the cabin that stands there today.

Beautiful place to visit. Educational hands on experience with history. I was able to visit with my children before all the hoopla started. Why in God's name would you want to destroy this wonderful West Virginia gem?

I grew up in this area and this was one of the first places my dad ever took me. I LOVE this place. It's part of WV History. Please don't destroy it. Many of the people I grew up with have great memories regarding this place.

As a state tourism marketer, I'm keenly aware of the economic value of this landmark. The cabin would have paltry value in a "historical zoo" elsewhere. The county would do well by its citizens to agree to pay fair market value for the lot and establish a fund for its upkeep. If the honor isn't enough, perhaps a study of the economic impact of developing the site should be of interest.
