We have lived in Our childhood home since 1972. Our Mother was an avid gardener who recently passed this year. We are sad at the prospect that the recent sale of our home to a builder will fall prey to the same "raze and build a mega-mansion" with total disregard to the beautiful greenery and flora our mother planted and that which existed when our family moved to the area. Keep Mclean green, beautiful and natural!

What makes our community a great place to live is our trees. It is the difference between Mother Nature and barren lands.
This is a common problem within Fairfax county. Every day on my way to work I see people cutting down what little trees leftover. They help us breathe and help provide our needed rainfall as well.

I fully & strongly support the efforts of the CWCA Environmental Committee, in coordination with other local homeowners associations, to ensure that all applicable tree conservation ordinances are fully enforced by the County and to work for legislation giving the County greater authority to protect the tree canopy.

I strongly support preserving the the Chesterbrook Woods tree canopy. I also support keeping out the main perpetrators: tasteless McMansion builders and people who buy from them.

As a resident of McLean and our greater planet, I specially value canopy trees to preserve nature's balance and protect our climate and health so that our children and future generations may enjoy a quality of life as we know it.
I am greatly disturbed by a lack of sensitivity to the need to conserve natural resources in every way and to protect our environment. The value of trees is immense and should never be underestimated -- canopy trees can cleanour air, help conserve energy, provide habitat for wildlife, prevent erosion, and make us happier and healthier.
Fairfax County needs to join other counties in enforcing tree conservation ordinances, and provide funding for planting trees and reverse the precipitous decline of our canopy trees. Citizens are here to help our local governments educate homeowners and enforce tree preservation -- our future quality of life depends on it

Keep our canopy! It is one of the most unique things about this neighborhood and effects property values and the desirability of the area. Control development. We don't need to build monstrosities that will be unsellable and uninhabitable during the next economic downturn - particularly at the expense of our trees.

When we were looking at houses to buy in 2002 we were sold on our Chesterbrook Woods home by the beauty of the neighborhood with tree lined streets. We did not like the sterility of newer neighborhood that have barron lots stripped of older trees in sun drenched lots. If we continue to let builders strip these lots of trees our neighborhood will lose its charm and curb appeal in addition to the quality of life shade and beauty adds for children and adults alike. Please save our trees and save the personality of our neighborhood!
