Archibald's wharf is an excellent spot for kids to play and to encourage a more active lifestyle. If anything our mayor should be creating more spaces for our community to meet with one another and be active instead of eliminating these spaces.

Archibald Wharf is a valuable asset for North Sydney. Once it's gone it will never come back. it requires some TLC from the CBRM not to be passed on likely for minimal dollars none of which will be seen in any improvements in our town.

I find it very hard to believe the that sale of Archibald Wharf is even being considered let alone allowed. Isn't there a provincial or federal law that could prevent a mayor from selling the only small community park and green space in our town (or is that just wishful thinking). At a time when we are trying to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage our children to spend more time in nature it seems a ridiculous option to consider. Also for many other reasons . As a B&B owner it is one of the only places in town that I feel proud to send my guests. They all enjoy a walk to the waterfront after many hours of driving to get here. Although we are used to seeing the ferries, most people are really impressed that you can sit so close to the dock. I always enjoy hearing their interesting waterfront stories about the people they met from the community and all over the world as they enjoyed a meal or ice cream at our little waterfront.

Are we willing to sell out to anyone promising jobs? Remember, a promise is not a guarantee.

If there was shipyard work here you can bet the previous owner would have been going after it. What ships? What jobs? more empty promises.

How many Cape Bretoners have gotten employment with CME so far? Having a non-performance clause doesn't help once the space has been torn up, it won't be restored to today's condition. What guarantee is there and how many jobs will be created? Banking on getting spin off work from Irving is foolhardy.

Would love to see Archibald's Wharf stay a recreational green space as that is a valuable asset to attract folks to live in a community. Please seek other locations for potential development for the ship repair expansion (namely locations that are already designated industrial spaces). Having a business like that in an industrial park (for example Sydport) would still have desirable spinoff benefits for the community, provide jobs that are accessible to Northside residents without sacrificing community space that encourages outdoor activity and play for families. thanks
