Vancouver was great, but NBC's 2012 Olympic coverage has been beyond abysmal, and very disrespectful to the athletes as well as the viewers who have jobs and bedtimes. In another historic Olympics with an especially strong field of female athletes, NBC made some very bad choices that took advantage of their monopoly on coverage in America, choices not limited to featuring more talking heads than event coverage, most of that coverage taking place after much of the US work force went to bed for work, the 'Bodies in Motion' soft-porn video that was so objectifying to female athletes and revolting to those of us who saw it, graphic commercials during the day that scared children during family time, airing the dancing monkey commercial after a piece on outstanding gold medalist Gabby Douglas, and an almost unquantifiable number of other judgment lapses.
This petition is to make a showing to the IOC and NBC executives that they need to re-think their coverage tactics of the Olympics. NBC's ratings would've been totally thrashed had other networks been able to broadcast in America.
The feedback I have received from many of you highlights a shared frustration regarding the disrespectful presentation of these historic athletic achievements. I am currently compiling your accounts of these judgment lapses to present directly to the leadership at the network. Constant vigilance remains necessary to ensure that future broadcasts reflect the quality and dignity that these athletes deserve.

Anyone and everyone should be able to share all the olympics video coverage they want online. NBC has no right monopolizing olympics coverage.

Let's get the left wing station dropped from covering any future Olympic Games.

The commercials were so gross my kids were actually scared. They really need to lose the rights for next time.

Sick of waiting until midnight to see the actual races. Just show the sports and stop with the fluff pieces.

NBC is ruining the games for everyone. The commentary is awful and they treat us like we have nothing better to do than stay up all night.
