We, the residents of Meera/Amna/Noora towers, are calling for the immediate review of artificial aroma diffusers use in enclosed and poorly ventilated areas, such as elevators, gym and corridors.

While these diffusers may be intended to create a pleasant atmosphere, many of us are experiencing serious health effects from constant exposure — including nausea, headaches, respiratory irritation, and allergic reactions. Strong artificial scents can trigger symptoms in pregnant women, children, and individuals with asthma, migraines, sensitivities and chronic illnesses, and cause slow long term issues to healthy individuals as well.

These fragrance diffusers are a hazard to indoor air quality, they contain toxic chemicals — including endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, and VOCs. They can trigger serious health issues when inhaled daily in enclosed, poorly ventilated spaces. We are being exposed daily, without consent — risking our health for the sake of artificial scent.

We are not asking for luxury — we are simply asking for clean, unscented air in the spaces we all share. We are asking NOT to be forced to breathe air that is contaminated for the sake of “ambiance”. Health is, and should ALWAYS be, a higher priority.

We respectfully urge building management to:

• Remove aroma diffusers from enclosed common areas.

• Consider neutral alternatives that do not compromise indoor air quality.

• Prioritize solutions that are inclusive, and protect, rather than endanger, the health and well-being of residents.

Let’s ensure that every resident is granted the basic human right to clean, breathable air.
