The communities of Ngoqokazi and Matinini have been experiencing a severe and ongoing water crisis since 2017. For the past several years, residents have faced inconsistent water supply, prolonged outages, and a complete lack of reliable access to clean and safe water. This situation has affected households, schools, and vulnerable community members, creating daily hardship and compromising health, hygiene, and dignity.

Despite numerous attempts to seek assistance and intervention from the relevant government departments, the issue remains unresolved. Community leaders and residents have repeatedly reported the problem and formally contacted Mayor Cyril Xaba, The Speaker, and Councillor Siyabonga Ntombela. Unfortunately, all these efforts have failed to bring any lasting solution or meaningful action.

After almost a decade of suffering without consistent water access, the community has been left with no choice but to escalate the matter collectively. This petition represents our united call for urgent, effective, and permanent corrective measures to restore our constitutional right to clean and reliable water.
