We, the parents and supporters of Christ Chapel Academy (CCA), come together in unity and urgency to express our deep concern over recent events that threaten the mission, leadership, and future of our children’s school.

For many of us, CCA is more than a school — it is a sacred place of academic excellence, spiritual growth, and community. We chose CCA not only for its educational strength but for the leadership that defined its heart and direction. That leadership has consistently come from Mrs. Burnette and her dedicated staff.

The news of her resignation — reportedly due to pressure to accept policies that compromise the Academy’s integrity — is deeply troubling. We are alarmed by increasing reports of church interference and a shift toward business priorities over student-centered values.

We are not opposed to the church. We respect the historic relationship between Christ Chapel Church and CCA. However, when that relationship threatens the school’s independence, transparency, and mission, it calls for action.

We urge you to:

  1. Protect the school’s operational autonomy from undue interference in daily decision-making and hiring.
  2. Ensure financial transparency, with resources used solely for student benefit—not to offset unrelated church expenses.
  3. Freeze "Building Utilization" fee increases and budget shifts until a thorough review with staff and parent input is completed.

We stand united—not in opposition, but in hope. Hope that you will hear our voices. Hope that you will protect what makes CCA special. And hope that together, we can preserve its legacy for generations to come.

You can also find a letter prepared by the Christ Christ Academy's staff members addressing their concerns by clicking here.

Please sign and share this petition if you believe in the vision of CCA and the need to restore its independence.

With faith and respect,
Concerned Parents and Supporters of Christ Chapel Academy
