Whereas the Harper government has passed Bill C-33, which removes our rights to freely associate and collectively bargain, in favour of ensuring “the short- and long-term viability and competitiveness of the employer; and the sustainability of the employer’s pension plan, taking into account any short-term funding pressures on the employer”, we the undersigned Air Canada employees implore Air Canada’s Board of Directors to rescind the $5 million retention bonus to President & CEO Calin Rovinescu, in support of the federal government’s legislated mandate to address the financial viability of our airline.
