Like my fellow peers I think this onsite needs to be postponed or changed to regional onsites. We have only found out this onsite was taking place in Dublin less than a week ago 4days after we will have already travelled to Dublin for our Irish exam. We ask the college to consider the heavy workload currently ob the students and ask for the date to be changed until January or even have this day run as half day at our regional onsites.

It would be really appreciated if Hibernia could postpone this onsite for a variety of reasons!
1) We were not informed about this onsite being in Dublin until this week. The college expects us to travel to Dublin, not once but twice in the space of four days. I personally am paying over 100euro for accommodation the night before the exam - not to mind travel. There is no possible way to travel up the morning of the onsite given the early start.
It is also hard to justify the fact the the September Cohort had this particular micro teaching onsite in their regional area!
2) This particular April Cohort are already dealing with an additional workload in comparison to other cohorts - our Ped 2 assignment is significantly larger than previous assignments. On top of all of this our Nua Gaeilge exam is also thrown on top of this workload. This is despite the fact that the September Cohort completed this exam in August - 1 year after starting the course in comparison to our nine months. September also completed this exam following the Gaeltacht - where they had two weeks to solely focus on this exam.
Given our additional workload - it seems grossly unfair to request April 17 to attend an onsite in Dublin at such short notice and given the expense to all groups outside of the Dublin area.

With Ped 2 due up, Christmas engagements and family commitments a second trip to Dublin in 4 days is simply not feasible for most.

Better planning should have taken place. It's not practical to travel to Dublin twice in one week. If two onsite were needed then the one in Dublin should have been last Saturday and have a regional onsite on the 9th instead

I think it's ridiculous that we were given such short notice that the onsite will be in UCD. I don't understand why it can't be in our regional onsite locations and why the Irish exam can't be in our regional locations too.
For the fees we are paying, you would expect a more professional service.

I agree with the comments, it is not fair to ask us to travel so far within the same week. For those that do not drive this means either an overnight stay the night before the on-site (which for most, it will be the second overnight stay that week, in one of the most expensive cities in Ireland) or else arrange alternative transport at 6am on the morning in question. As well as the expense of all of this in the run up to Christmas, we will be getting ready to finalize our pedagogy 2 assignment, (which again was so perfectly scheduled into the myhelms calendar). So instead of arriving home 30-60 mins after a nearby on-site, we will be arriving home 3 hours later, shattered from the early start, and no time or humour to continue with college work that weekend. I understand we are all on a tight schedule, but I think a bit of thought and respect for students would be great. We are under enough pressure this time of year as it is, with exams, assignments, fees, Christmas. Surely the on-site could be held in our own areas?

I'm unable to organise childcare for 3 smallies at such short notice I'm travelling from Kerry which is a substantial journey I feel it is too short notice and is grosdly unfair to the limerick and cork cohorts

Its a joke I feel that the college does not act like a college and is all for themselves and does not have any consideration for their students as we have to go to Dublin twice in one week with the biggest assignment of our course due little over two weeks later

Absolute disgrace giving such short notice that we have to travel to Dublin not once but TWICE in one week. The busiest weekend of the year in Dublin. No cibsideration.

To whom it may concern at Hibernia College,
A very short message to say that the notice of this onsite day in UCD is ridiculous.. not alone have we to travel up for an exam the Wednesday but asked to do this again the very same week.. in December? With not even 3 weeks notice given.. it is very unfair to expect people to travel up twice in one week..
