Excellent Professor. Jason Markle is my most memorable professor thus far at Northern and I would hate to see him go. His attitude and passion make you want to go to class and learn something new.

Jason was among the few professors at Northern to have made a lasting impact on me as a student. He taught me so much in the short semester I had with him that I'd hate to see other students miss out on the opportunity of having him as a teacher.

Jason Markle was one of my absolute favorite professors ever. I learned so much from him about writing and there can't be enough reasons to let him go. NMU needs way more thoughtful, caring and constructive professors like Jason.

I was struggling to get an assignment in on time, a 3-5 page work of narrative prose. Jason was patient and gave me extra time; as a result, I completed 48 pages of the best writing I've done in my life. Without his generous commitment to let me turn in my best, this would have never have happened. As a result, I now have a work worthy of graduate school applications and something to work on toward the future.

Jason helped me get my first piece published. He cares a lot and really helps his students learn how to revise their work so that it becomes publishable.

Jason was the most inspiring and helpful teacher I've had so far at NMU. He taught us both creative and practical skills when it came to working as a writer, and I'd hate to see future students deprived of the opportunity to learn from him.
