We live at 1410 E. Braemere Rd and we respectfully protest the candles on Highland View Drive. WE ALSO PROTEST THE CANDLES ON E. BRAEMERE INTO HIGHLAND COVE. We all love this neighborhood, we love the beauty of this neighborhood, we strive to protect the safety of this neighborhood, and I do not believe these candles on EITHER STREETS do any of the above. We feel it's a waste of resources, does NOT improve safety, and completely disregards the beauty of this neighborhood. No, no, no ACHD.

I’m wondering if there is any evidence that these devices actually improve safety. So far my experience has been that they actually endanger our children. The installation on Curling resulted in making the walking path unplowable causing snow not only build up, but be plowed into the walking lane. Kids ended up having to walk or bike in the street. In the spring there was a ton of lose gravel that the street sweepers couldn’t reach.

Candles are dangerous for bicyclists and cars. Too many bicycles comes down highland view confining them to too narrow and rigid area. Not sufficient. Cars do not have flexibility to manage unforeseen situations. Get rid of this dangerous hazard now.

All of the recent changes to the Highlands neighborhood are a giant waste of tax payer dollars and have done nothing but aggravate traffic flow and pit neighbors against neighbors; never mind the safety factor of funneling ALL traffic by an elementary school with only one outlet. Snow removal will be a problem and cause unnecessary ice build up and messy road conditions.

525 Balmoral Rd. I travel on Highland View often to carpool kids or visit friends & I believe the candles should be removed. A white painted line would suffice, and allow for snow removal and street cleaning.

Would rather keep it as was. I could perhaps see a benefit of candles on a right hand curve with partial obstruction.

As soon as it snows, these candles will be a problem for snowplows and decreased path for residents trying to use the roadway.

These candles vastly get in the way of street cleaning and snow removal.

Please remove the candles from our street. In Addition. No hard curbing.

Please remove the candles and do not install the raised curb.

I concur with all regarding the candles. I'm not sure how these decisions are made but they are making our lives difficult here. The diverter on E. Braemere defies logic. Please add me to the petition. THX

Please remove the candles in the Highlands neighborhood - on Highland View Drive and Curling. As we learned last year, the candles make it impossible for ACHD to sweep the streets and to plow them in the winter. Snow build up within the candles pushes pedestrians/children walking to school into the middle of the street... making it far unsafer for everyone. Also, please remove the barriers on upper Braemere near Highlands Cove. This is a neighborhood, not a busy downtown street. We should be able to drive on our neighborhood streets without ACHD restricting us (like the West Braemere diverter which only benefits those residents and not the hundreds of others who live here). 1044 Harcourt Dr.

The candles on Highland View Drive NEED to be removed. The concerns, which have been made clear in others statements, are something that need to be taken into consideration and should have been BEFORE the candles were installed. The candles, and the planned curbing, is not and will not make the street safer, you have actually made the street more dangerous for the children and for all of the residents whether we are driving, walking or biking. Please remove the candles.
